We wrapped up our Summer EV Camp today, and what a fun week it was! ⚡🚗
Each camper designed and built a model solar-powered car, electric RC car, and a hydrogen electric car while exploring the technology shaping the future of transportation.
Along the way, they learned the differences between battery electric vehicles (BEVs), hybrid vehicles, and alternative fuel vehicles, with a strong emphasis on the safety practices required when working on EVs.
Today we welcomed Volvo to campus, and they brought two of their latest EV models for campers to explore. They had the opportunity to hear directly from industry experts, ask questions, and get hands-on information about some of the newest electric vehicles on the market.
Congratulations to all of our campers for their hard work, curiosity, and enthusiasm throughout the week. The future of transportation is in good hands!

🏆HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT ALERT! 🏆
DCCTC FFA member and Agriculture student, Jackson Droze took home the Grand Champion award at the inaugural Auctioneering CDE at the state FFA convention today! We are incredibly proud of him as well as his teacher, Ms. Attaway for her encouragement.
He will travel to San Antonio next month to compete on the national level at the International Junior Auctioneer Championship (IJAC). The IJAC is an opportunity for youth to demonstrate their selling prowess and expertise in the art of auctioneering. Hosted annually by the National Auction Association (NAA) during the NAA Conference & Show, IJAC showcases the emerging talent of young auctioneers between the ages of 12 and 18.
The purpose of this FFA CDE is to provide an avenue to explore and bring awareness to the auction industry. This contest aims to shine a spotlight on the rich traditions and valuable bid-calling skills associated with auctioneering.
